Bruno Duchesne elected Chairman of the BSB Supervisory Board
He succeeds Gérard Desbois after 8 years of presidency.
Bruno Duchesne was elected Chairman of the BSB Supervisory Board at the meeting of 27 March 2024. Former CEO of the Banque Poponique de Bourgogne Franche-Comté, he succeeds Gérard Desbois in the context of an evolution planned for a long time and intends to contribute to the ambitious development of BSB in the coming years.
Departure of Gérard Desbois
After 2 years as president of the AGESC (Association de Gestion de l'ESC Dijon) and 8 years as president of the Supervisory Board of the ESC ESC Dijon-Bourgogne (legal establishments with BSB), Gérard Desbois announced his departure during the Council meeting on 27 March.
Under his presidency, BSB obtained EQUIS and AMBA accreditations. BSB has thus joined the very exclusive club of business schools with the Triple Crown (AACSB, AMBA, EQUIS). The School has also doubled its size and has become highly internationalized.
Always very attached to his School (BSB'71 graduate), Gérard Desbois will remain a shareholder in EESC, a member of the Supervisory Board and its Strategic Committee.
His successor Bruno Duchesne elected by the Supervisory Board
Bruno Duchesne is a graduate of ESSEC, holds a DEA in Management Sciences and a Master in Management from EM Lyon. His professional career in the banking world has led him to exercise several management positions within the Caisse d'Épargne de Franche-Comté and Rhône-Alpes Lyon.
In 2012, he joined Banque Popaire de Bourgogne Franche-Comté as CEO, a position he held until he retired in 2021. During this decade, he largely contributed to the merger between the Banque Popaire de Bourgogne Franche-Comté and BSB, supporting, among other things, the creation of the Microfinance Chair and the launch of the Bloomberg trading room. He was also the first President of the BSB Foundation, which he strongly developed.
For the past two years, he has also been a professor in the School's programs and an advisor to the BSB Management Board.
Continued ambitious development
” This evolution was planned for a long time and this succession was thus anticipated. ” commented Stéphan Bourcieu, CEO of BSB and Chairman of the School's Management Board. ” The entire BSB community would like to warmly thank Gérard Desbois for his unwavering commitment and vision, which have greatly contributed to the remarkable evolution of the School in recent years. We are also delighted with the arrival of Bruno Duchesne as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of our institution. This election ensures the continuation of the ambitious development of BSB within the framework of the UP2027 strategic plan. ”
