Launch of the School of Media, Culture & Communication
Located on the new BSB Lyon campus, a reference school to support creation
BSB officially launched its School of Media, Culture & Communication during an event organized in Paris on February 3. As part of BSB's ambitious development strategy, this new “School within the School” — after the success of the School of Wine & Spirits Business — will be based on the new BSB Lyon campus, which will open its doors in September 2025.
Its objective is to combine the best of a major school of management and a school of communication, by offering students the keys to thrive in a world disrupted by digital technology. By offering a complete and specialized course from Bac to Bac+6, the School of Media, Culture & Communication promises to be a reference player in terms of supporting creation.
A relevant and structuring model at BSB Lyon
Based on the model of the School of Wine & Spirits Business created by BSB in 2013, the School of Media, Culture & Communication combines teaching, with specific training programs, and Researching, with a dedicated team of teacher-researchers, all based in a Emblematic Place. Based on the know-how of a major management school and on historical legitimacy in cultural industries, this structure meets the need to train future leaders in the media, communication and culture by providing them with expertise combining creativity, strategy and business.
It will be established in September 2025 on the brand new BSB Lyon Campus. ”Lyon is a fertile ground for sectors of communication and media, and it is the second cultural region in France” explains Jean-Yves Klein, Director of the School of Media, Culture & Communication. ”The city has a rich ecosystem with actors whose core business is in line with our project.”
However, even if the new BSB Lyon campus will offer the School of Media, Culture & Communication an exceptional setting, with immersive spaces such as the Creative Hall, tea Creative Lab And the Design Lab, the new structure will be present on the School's 3 campuses: Mecic-Paris, a historic and pioneering program, will always be offered in the heart of the capital, and the MSc Arts & Cultural Management will always be taught in Dijon.
A complete and professional educational offer
The objective of the courses at the School of Media, Culture & Communication is to provide 3 skill bases expected by recruiters to boost student employability:
- Mastering communication strategies and content creation, in a world dominated by social networks and digital technology.
- Develop cultural sensitivity and a creative vision, supported by 35 years of experience in cultural management.
- Acquire solid business and management skills, pillars of a recognized top business school.
To do this, the School of Media, Culture & Communication will offer a complete and specialized course from Bac to Bac+6. Thus, alongside MECIC-Paris and the MSc Arts & Cultural Management, two new programs were created:
- The Bachelor in Media, Culture & Communication: a three-year course, accessible from high school, including a work-study option in the final year.
- The MSc Media, Culture & Communication: a two-year program, in English at 50%, open internationally initially or alternately over the 2 years.
Communication at the service of creation
”Thanks to these courses, our students will master all the dimensions of communication in the service of creation, whether in gaming, streaming or even cinema”, explains Jean-Yves Klein. ”They will know ensure the management of projects, both strategic and operational, in all sectors and for creators of all kinds, through events, the monitoring of an editorial line, product launch and branding. And while the digitalization of society is taking its course, and social networks have become essential, they will know in particular use AI to develop their content.”
”For this, our students will appreciate our pedagogy based on experimentation (Learning by Doing) and the power of our ecosystem: beyond our expert professors, they can count on more than 80 prestigious professional partners to develop their skills and projects, such as Universal, TikTok, Dailymotion, Dailymotion, Ubisoft or Canal+”, concludes Jean-Yves Klein.
