Paris 2024: the 4×100-meter relay for 4 graduates

Morgane Blouët (BSB'18), Pauline Fournat (BSB'18), Camille Jacqmarcq (BSB'93) and Alexandra Jacquot (BSB'21)

Paris 2024 is a team race against time that began in September 2017, with the official award during the 131E session of the International Olympic Committee, in Lima. Since then, it has been preparation fever. Everything had to be ready to host the events starting on 26 July.

In the starting blocks, four competitors agreed to take a few minutes to share their impressions, a few weeks before the opening ceremony...

Morgane is the first to take the witness. ” Our mission is clear: everyone who is accredited has the right to housing according to their accreditation. Paris 2024 is 700,000 nights to be guaranteed ”.

Accreditation? Alexandra takes off in her turn! ” I am in charge of the accreditation of private agents in charge of the safety of people and premises. It's painstaking work: you have to identify all the people per site and identify precisely what they will have to do. ”.

But how do people who are housed and protected arrive? A lot through Paris airports! Pauline seizes the witness. ” We take care of travelers accredited to Orly and Roissy Charles de Gaulle from 14 days before the Olympic Games and up to 3 days after the end of the Paralympic events. It's a marathon lasting two months, night and day and 7 days a week !

The race is getting more intense! The information system must absolutely hold up! What does Camille think? It is she who can be seen just at the end of the straight line. ” The IT department was created in 2019. Arriving in June 2020, I mainly took care of the implementation of collaborative tools and the automation of IT processes. ”.

Pauline takes a sharp turn. ” Upstream, my work consisted in contributing to the design of reception and training courses for hosts, employees and volunteers. With a systematic inventory of use cases so that the reception of each person is smooth. Thanks to this, I really became aware that the Olympic and Paralympic Games are a real opportunity to continue to develop accessibility conditions for all populations within Paris airports. ”.

The witness passes to Morgane. ” We have 400 establishments under contract. To house officials, media, federations, partners, partners, law enforcement agencies, private security for which Alexandra and drivers take care of. My mission consisted in giving access to recipients and resolving innumerable misunderstandings or hiccups. ”.

Camille pops up behind her. ” We created a dozen extranets to communicate directly with our numerous contacts all over the world. Indispensable for organizing such an event! But now, I have switched to operational on site. I am the assistant technology manager at the Paris La Défense Arena swimming, waterpolo and para-swimming site. ”.

Alexandra extends her stride. ” For all of us, the devil is in the details. On D-day, everything must have been rigorously planned and treated in advance. For example, as far as I am concerned, I must electronically limit each surveillance staff, by name, within the perimeter and at the times that correspond to their mission. But also anticipate the unexpected events related to security ”.

Fortunately, these hard-working athletes benefit from excellent preparation. For Camille, the trigger took place during the Los Angeles Olympics and Carl Lewis's four medals. ” I have kept this absolute happiness in my memory ” . ” Me, I did 15 years of tennis and handball in competition”, says Pauline. She adds:” The choice to make my passion a profession was undoubtedly born at Roland-Garros, where I picked up balls. ”.

Morgane started with 12 years of gymnastics before moving on to athletics. ” The Paris 2024 machine is a TGV launched at full speed. You have to keep the distance and remain hypervigilant all the time. ! ”. Alexandra went through soccer. ” We are in contact with an incredible number of people to sort everything out. A team sport helped me balance each exchange ”.

Finish line in sight. It is time to let the runners do their last efforts...
