The aim of the Specialised Masters in Commerce International des Vins & Spiritueux (MS CIVS) is to impart advanced sales, marketing and managerial skills for advancement in the wine and spirits industry.

The Specialised Masters in Commerce International des Vins & Spiritueux (MS CIVS) welcomes students, young professionals and management professionals with a passion for wines and spirits who wish to take up executive positions requiring expertise in the wine and spirits industry and advanced managerial skills.

You can choose between 2 options: full-time or part-time.

The part-time program is particularly suitable for professionals in the process of retraining who want to focus on a passion job or who aspire to create or take over a business.

It focuses on the fundamentals of the full-time program and favors the sharing of experience with speakers who are all actors in the professional world in office.

4 seminars (Viticulture and Enology, Distribution and Operational Marketing, International Market Approach, Entrepreneurship and Business Plan) and 1 study trip to Italy (Tuscany and Piedmont)

With this program, get ready to develop a triple skill:

Technical skills

  • Discovery of stages between vine cultivation and wine production
  • Awareness of specific characteristics Wine and Spirits products
  • Sensory approach and awareness of the rules of wine tasting
  • Preparing for WSET: Wine (level 2 and/or 3) and Spirits (level 2)

Sales and marketing skills

The subjects taught (Marketing, Strategy, Management, Law etc...) are taught by working professionals for more than 80% of them, 30% of whom are alumni. Theoretical lessons are applied to the Wines & Spirits sector and illustrated by concrete cases.

How to integrate the Specialized Master in International Wine & Spirits Trade?

Students with a Bac +5

Students who want to enter the MS - CIVS must justify a Bac +5, regardless of the field of training, or be in Master 2 of the program Master Grande Ecole from BSB.

Professionals with a Bac +4 or a Bac +3 with 3 years of experience professionals

Professionals with a bac +3 and 3 years of professional experience can be integrated into the training by way of derogation. This course can be followed as part of a VAE (Validation of Acquired by Experience).

Dijon

Full-time MS — CIVS students join the BSB campus located in Dijon city center. Welcomed within the School of Wine & Spirits, they benefit from all the infrastructures of this unique place, the first place in the world entirely dedicated to teaching and research in wine and spirits management:

  • The Wine & Spirits Business Lab : behavioral research laboratory dedicated to the world of wines and spirits
  • The Tasting Room : a room equipped with 32 stations for tasting courses
  • The Cellar : a storage cellar housing the BSB bottle collection
  • The Spirits World : a place dedicated to spirits
  • The Business Lounge : a private, refined and cozy reception area

Paris

The campus of MS CIVS part-time benefits from an exceptional location in the heart of 15th arrondissement in Paris. The training is provided 2 days per month on the Paris Campus and the 4 seminars are given on the Dijon Campus.

The training lasts between 20 and 22 months with a total of 380 hours of courses. For this part-time program, it is possible to make several entries during the year (January, June and November).

What are the MS CIVS tuition fees?

For the start of the school year in September 2025, the tuition fees for the CIVS Specialized Master in full time are €15,500. For the CIVS part-time Specialized Master, the tuition fees are €13,000.

The Specialized Master in International Wine & Spirits Trade (MS CIVS) welcomes students, young professionals, management professionals, passionate about wines and spirits, wishing to occupy executive positions requiring expertise in the world of wine and spirits and requiring expertise in the wine world and advanced managerial skills.

Based on a very powerful network of graduates and as a pioneer in teaching in these industries, this program is a leader in the French-speaking market.

Training evaluation criteria

Each module is subject to an evaluation that is defined according to the objectives and the skills sought. These evaluations must be most in line with the tasks requested during professional life.

They take place either at the end of the module or at the end of the semester and take different forms:

  • Proof written on a table
  • Individual work in the form of a file
  • Group work
  • Individual or group oral presentation

The thesis and its defense are eliminated if they do not obtain an average grade of at least 10 and an internship of 4 to 6 months is mandatory to validate your diploma.

The program provides 420 hours of courses over the year.
