A student boosts soft micromobility with his individualized boxes

Clément Riondé develops Teepark at the BSB incubator

At the origin of the Teepark project, there was an awareness of entrepreneurship that made Clément Riondé's head, while he was in IUT Marketing Techniques. “From then on, I got into the habit of writing down all the project ideas that could come to my mind,” says Clément. “Then Teepark's intuition came gradually, once I joined BSB.”

The school arrived there in 2017, after his IUT and a 6-month stay in London. “It was a big crush on the campus and the city of Dijon,” recalls Clément. “We were four friends from this IUT taking the exams and the wow effect was the same for everyone: we ended up at BSB at the following school year.”

He then oriented his curriculum according to his entrepreneurial preferences, with in particular internships in small structures, startups specialized in one in blockchains and cryptocurrencies, the other in self-financing. He is also following the specialization Entrepreneurship and Management of SMEs within the Grande Ecole Master, and therefore joined the incubator to develop Teepark.

“In my personal life, I have always favored cycling for my mobility, and I am trying to make those around me aware of this practice,” explains Clément. “Today, theft is the number one cause of people giving up cycling: there are 400,000 thefts per year in France! Add to this parking problem that of repairs, and you have the heart of what animated my thoughts: how to promote soft micromobility based on these observations? ”

Boxes that hit the nail on the head

“As electric bikes currently represent 40% of sales in France and their market share is constantly increasing, an idea has emerged: that of individualized boxes in which you can recharge your vehicle and leave your belongings safely.”

Clément is thus thinking of reusing maritime containers in order to modulate them, like Legos, according to the needs of the customer, and therefore to equip these individual boxes there. Equipped with solar panels (or other sustainable devices), the whole is self-sufficient from an energy point of view. An application allows the reservation of the box and a whole series of ancillary services are offered — such as the possibility of finding your repaired bike when you come to pick it up.

“Today, I was joined by my friend Quentin Cecutti, who was part of the IUT band that joined BSB at the same time as me. It is a valuable aid to me in the development of the project, and in particular on the financial dimensions. We are in the process of finalizing the first prototype and will proceed with the first field experiments, including an installation for the next school year on the BSB Lyon campus. Once our product has been validated in practice, we will be able to contact companies to offer them our solution,” adds Clément.

“And then I want to emphasize the importance of the school's support in our project, whether through the BSB Foundation or through the incubator, through Claire Maugras, its manager. Without this support, we would not be there,” concludes Clément. There is no doubt that with this great idea and this quality of environment, this business will succeed!
