Launch of the BSB Global DBA

A doctoral program based on impact research, with special stays at MIT and the Tokyo Institute of Technology

BSB is launching a Global DBA (Doctorate of Business Administration) whose first promotion will be welcomed on the Lyon campus from January 2024. This doctoral program, designed to perfect pluri and interdisciplinary managerial practice, is aimed at high-potential profiles who wish to become opinion leaders by producing impact research.

The course lasts 3 to 5 years, with personalized support and teaching in France (Lyon, Dijon, Paris) and research stays in the United States (Boston MIT) and Japan (Tokyo Institute of Technology) and Japan (Tokyo Institute of Technology), and the production of a thesis.

Reach a milestone by acquiring advanced research skills and techniques

The BSB G-DBA is a 3- to 5-year part-time doctoral program that will welcome around fifteen experienced professional profiles from January 2024: executives and managers of private, public and associative organizations. The path allows candidates to achieve their career aspirations by helping them bridge the gap between theory and practice, through a strong applied research dimension.

“Our aim is to shape thought leaders and produce impact research,” explains Dimitris Assimakopoulos, Director of BSB's G-DBA. “The program will thus contribute to connecting some of the School's main research areas — digital and responsible innovation, digital and responsible innovation, green and sustainable management, green and sustainable management, food & agri tech, wine and spirits — to wider societal needs. And this by responding to the major challenges that our societies and economies are facing in Europe and around the world.”

A unique experience on 3 continents

The guiding principles for the selection of participants are inclusion and diversity of profiles. The limited size of the group should facilitate a high level of peer interactions, an important factor in the richness of the program. Hybrid learning takes place during 6 face-to-face workshops on three continents. The first year takes place in France, on the BSB campuses in Lyon, Dijon and Paris. The second and third years include visits to research seminars in Japan, to the TIT (Tokyo Institute of Technology), and to the United States, to Boston MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology).

The following years are devoted to the completion of the thesis. Throughout the program, very particular attention is paid to the supervision of candidates, with dedicated teams — faculty and experts recognized in France and internationally — ensuring individual follow-up and online support for everyone. Close support that is a valuable key to success.
