#InterviewAlumni — Morgane Pagliarulo, an anchor for entrepreneurs

Interview with Morgane Pagliarulo, co-founder of SAILERS

What is your BSB promo year?

I came from the 2016 Bachelor class. I spent my first two years in continuous studies in Dijon and the last year in work-study programs on the Lyon campus.

Who are you, before being a co-founder of SAILERS?

Born in Dijon, I am 26 years old and an entrepreneur! Passionate about travel, sport (former French boxing champion and full contact) and nature, I like to share and undertake in the themes that are important to me.

And if not, what do you do for a living... professionally?

Now the co-founder of SAILERS, a network of entrepreneurs for freelancers specializing in digital professions, I left an employee to thrive in a project that matched my values. In parallel, I am leading other entrepreneurial projects that will soon see the light of day in Côte d'Or!

If you had to introduce SAILERS to a child?

SAILERS is “sailors” in English, because in the team we like to compare the world of entrepreneurship to a big ocean that you throw yourself into when you decide to create your company and into which it is not easy to emerge. SAILERS is a community open to digital freelancers who want to surround themselves, train and support each other to develop their structure. Our goal is to help these profiles — graphic designers, developers, digital consultants... — who want to significantly advance their business by being part of a cohesive team.By joining, you become a web sailor and you have access to:

  • A private chat to exchange with other sailors
  • Monthly meetings with members
  • Business Management Training Webinars
  • Masterclasses dedicated to the digital sector to increase skills
  • A listing on our website
  • Answers to the daily questions of the company manager

The greatest pride that you should have celebrated more?

I went on a trip around the world for a year. Today the health context is complicated, I know that I was very lucky to discover these places and I should have enjoyed them even more!

The biggest difficulty you have experienced so far with SAILERS?

Difficulties in making self-employed people aware that investing in themselves was essential for the development of their business. Sometimes a good encounter can change everything and get a box off the ground. That is why being part of networks is very important for me.

A testimony or an opinion to share concerning the Covid-19 episode?

It was Covid that allowed me to take the plunge into entrepreneurship, I told myself that it was time to get started and do what I liked.

What is an actor of change for you?

He is someone who knows how to adapt, who takes action and who takes into account his environmental and social impact. This quote from Elon Musk illustrates this point well: “I had the choice between watching things happen, or being an actor in them.”

Your morning routine to have the energy to change things every day?

I start by recharging my batteries by taking a short walk in my vegetable garden, listening to nature and enjoying the fresh air. When the weather is ugly I listen to music!

The event that made you want to contribute to change?

Before becoming an entrepreneur, I worked in an association called BGE, as a business start-up consultant. I finally wanted to start a business myself. I realized that the entrepreneurs I supported had difficulty getting support and support in their professional lives, that's how the idea of creating a support network for digital entrepreneurs myself came to me. A network specialized in digital professions, because for me it is a promising and attractive sector of the future.

What kind of student were you?

The type to ask a thousand questions when the subject interested me!

If you could relive your student days, what would you do differently?

I would have started entrepreneurship at the same time as my studies.

What was the choice of path or the action taken when you were a student that served you the most?

My last year of apprenticeship really brought me a lot, I discovered the business world, was able to save money and become self-employed.

Your next big ambition?

Carry out my other entrepreneurial projects in the field of green tourism. You will soon hear about it!

Any advice or a message for a BSB student?
